Non-Licensure Disclosure & Ethics Statement:

I am a Zurich-trained Jungian analyst with a diploma in Analytical Psychology. Working with unconscious material is the heart and soul of this kind of work.  This means my work does not fall under the category of a licensed psychotherapist, mental health counselor, or clinical psychologist.  In Jungian analysis, the approach to psychological suffering relies on symbolism, metaphor, active imagination, and dream analysis.  I  nurture healthy relationships and I am mindful of transference/countertransference.  I also see the value developing deep relationships with my clients, however, without fostering unhealthy attachments or dependency.

Our work together is often intimate and sometimes that creates unrealistic expectations in a client.  Whenever a perceived conflict arises between us, together, we will manage your expectations.  There may be times when I need to re-establish the boundaries in our relationship.  Whenever this happens, you will be notified in writing in order to avoid any misunderstanding.  Occasionally, I have to raise my rates.  Due to the often sensitive nature of the financial transaction between us, you will always receive notification of a rate increase in writing.

Again, I am not a licensed practitioner of traditional psychotherapy.  I will always seek to adhere to the highest standards of integrity with my clients but given the deeply personal nature of this unconventional approach to the work, such standards may differ from what licensing boards or the APA dictate.   All clients need to take ultimate responsibility for their own health and well-being.

If you have a diagnosed personality or mood disorder, you should reveal this to me in the beginning.  We will need to manage your expectations of our work very carefully.  You should also inform me of any medications you are taking.  I will never offer you medical advice or clinical diagnoses, other than for you to see a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist should your condition or expectations fall out of the scope my practice in Jungian or dream analysis.
